Water Analysis – Your Pre-Flight Checklist

Why Endure What You Can Eliminate? – Schedule Your Free Water Analysis Today

If you’re lucky enough to fly somewhere for vacation or to visit family, you expect the plane to be safe—and the pilots confident. That level of security doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from preparation, practice, and a proven pre-flight checklist. If a pilot skipped these critical checks, you wouldn’t knowingly board the plane.

But we aren’t always so cautious about the health of our home’s water system. Many families endure poor-tasting, cloudy, or even unhealthy water simply because they haven’t checked what’s flowing from the tap. Clean and healthy water shouldn’t be a luxury.

Water Testing

That’s why C and J Water offers Central Indiana residents a comprehensive, free water analysis. Your water deserves the same level of attention and care as your health, food, and air. Once you know the causes of water issues, you can eliminate them.

Just like a pilot’s pre-flight checklist, a yearly water analysis can help ensure the quality and safety of your home’s water. Knowing the source of issues like cloudy water, strange smells, or sediment makes all the difference.

What’s Included in Your Free Water Analysis

Our free water analysis is designed to identify common and hidden water quality issues that can affect your health and home. Here’s what our technicians can test:

  • Hardness–3:4 American households experience hard water. Hardness causes white spotting around the home, clogs or damages pipes and fixtures, and dry and irritates people’s skin.
  • pHThis determines if water is acidic. Water high in acidity can harm copper pipes, sinks, and fixtures. Highly basic water is also corrosive.
  • Chlorine–While chlorine is a great disinfectant, it isn’t great for the body. Since most homes use city water, there is a high chance that your tap water contains chlorine and chloramines.
  • Dissolved SolidsThese are dissolved ions in your water, like calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, and nitrates. Some dissolved solids in water are common and beneficial, but problems start when levels increase beyond what would be present naturally.

If your home uses a well, we can also test sulfides, iron, and tannins. For more information, see this in-depth post.

Why Preventive Maintenance Matters

We use water daily for cooking, drinking, bathing, laundry, and so much more. Most people only notice an issue when their water smells odd, feels off, or looks strange. Our free water analysis gives you the opportunity to catch potential problems early—and resolve them before they become costly or hazardous. Benefits of proactive testing include:

  • Helping ensure your water is safe and healthy for your family.
  • Preventing expensive repairs to plumbing or appliances.
  • Extending the lifespan of water softeners, filters, and other systems.
  • Gaining peace of mind from knowing your water system is running efficiently.
